Canadian PFAS Deadline – January 29, 2025

The Issue: The current focus on banning all PFAS raises a significant threat to our industry, as many components and other parts rely on this substance to protect health, the environment and meet regulatory requirements. This webinar will provide an overview of the global and federal PFAS activities to date and further discuss potential implications.

Attendees will leave with a better understanding of the PFAS discussion, where PFAS is used by our industry and its benefits, activities and approaches your company can consider now in order to help prepare for compliance requirements, manufacturing impacts, supply chain disruptions and customer questions.

The Host: Bruce Calder, VP Consulting Services at Claigan Environmental

Claigan has an in-depth practical knowledge of restricted materials in physical products in the world. Bruce will help members deal with the upcoming regulations and clarify company responsibilities.

PFAS are becoming regulated in every major jurisdiction in the world. Key legislations include:

  • Restriction of water soluble PFAS (PFOA and the related longer chain perfluoroalkylcarboxylates LC-PFCA)
  • Examples – EU POP Regulation, EU REACH Regulation, Canadian Prohibition of Certain Toxic Substances, and US TSCA
  • Reporting of PFAS use
